Sankajo or sankyo (as referred to in some Aikido styles) is a painful technique that can be followed through from ikkajo.

Uke's arm is bent at the elbow, with his biceps almost parallel to the mat at shoulder height and his forearm perpendicular to the mat. His hand will be twisted in the direction of his head, palm obliquely downward.

One of nage's hands will be hold uke's inward-turned palm, while the other hand will support this lock by either closing uke's fingers or palming uke's upward-pointing elbow. Both of nage's hands will be extended so that uke cannot move in towards him. Nage's body is positioned either to uke's side or diagonally, slightly to his rear corner. This is then followed by a variation of an ikkajo pin, either in irimi or tenkan movements.
